Above: Plagiarism will be taken very seriously at the Grade 8 level. All students in Grade 8 have now been taught to write a proper bibliography, and how to source their material.
Language Arts - In LA today we read a new short story by Ray Bradbury entitled, "All Summer in a Day". A copy of this story has been uploaded to D2L, as well as the discussion questions, which were discussed in groups and as a whole class.
Any students who were absent today, need to make sure they read the short story on D2L, or see their teacher to sign out and borrow a copy.
Social Studies - In Social Studies today we reviewed the very important topic of Plagiarism and how to ensure that students are properly sourcing their research. As well, students received a handout on how to write a proper bibliography.
This will be the expectation all year - students must write bibliographies and ensure that they know how to do this anytime research is involved in an assignment.
We will be starting a research assignment tomorrow.
The "How to Reference" handout can be found on D2L.
